About Me

IMG_2554My name is Samantha Sutherland. I trained as an actor musician at Rose Bruford College, graduating in 2007. Since then, I have been freelancing as a performer but also furthering my interest in early years music development.

I first began working for the early years music department at The Blackheath Conservatoire seven years ago. Since then I have taken various early years classes catering for babies, toddlers and children. Constantly training and adding to my repertoire, the classes were influenced by ColourStrings and Kodaly

Additionally, as part of my position at the Conservatoire, I designed and ran many interactive storytelling holiday workshops. These would always include; musical elements, arts and crafts, movement, drama and puppetry.

Alongside my work at The Conservatoire, I have delivered regular toddler groups to nurseries and community halls.

Mamfy’s Music Time is an amalgamation of all of the early years experience that I have had over time. I have taken inspiration from my training and research but mostly from the children themselves to form my own pedagogy and way of working.

I have a DBS certificate.

Mamfy is a cute shortening of the name Samantha and is what some of my closest friends still call me!
